This is "Central Park South at Sixth Avenue," a corner that typifies the ebullience and energy that is New York at its best. I've tried to capture the motion of the street in this canvas, one of my earliest efforts depicting a city setting. I also had fun painting the hansom cabs that are, to this day, one of the great traditions of Central Park.
